Information on Russia
Russia is the largest country in the world, spanning two continents, Europe and Asia. It is known for its vast landscapes, including the frozen tundra of Siberia and
the snowy peaks of the Ural Mountains. It is also known for its rich cultural heritage, including famous writers such as Tolstoy and Dostoevsky, and the famous onion-
domed churches of Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Politically, Russia is a federal semi-presidential republic. The President of Russia is the head of state and government and holds executive power. The Prime Minister
is the head of government and leads the federal government. The State Duma is the lower house of the Federal Assembly of Russia, which is the country's legislative
body. The Federation Council is the upper house of the Federal Assembly.
Russia has a mixed economy, which is dominated by the natural resources sector, particularly oil and gas. The country is one of the world's largest producers and
exporters of these resources. In recent years, there has been a focus on diversifying the economy and encouraging foreign investment, particularly in the technology
and manufacturing sectors. Despite this, Russia still faces economic challenges such as high inflation, a lack of diversification, and a dependence on oil prices.
Russia also plays a major role in international affairs, and is a member of the UN Security Council, G20, G8, and many other international organizations.
